We’ve talked previously about the importance of workplace wellbeing. It helps reduce stress and minimises risk of health issues as employees are more likely to be aware of the importance of staying active and eating well. Workplace wellbeing also increases productivity, as healthy and happy employees are more likely to perform their best at work, and boosts staff retention. We find our employees tend to stay with Club Insure because we offer a great working environment and prioritise our team’s happiness.
Our staff gave Club Insure 7.66 out of 10 for placing focus on their health and wellbeing, a 6.3% increase compared to last year. The wellbeing report also shows our team gave a happiness score an average of 7 out of 10. This is a 12.3% increase in the last twelve months and a score we hope to improve year-on-year.
There was a 14% increase in participation in our wellbeing initiatives, which include seminars and annual health checks. 83% of Club Insure employees have taken part in one of our activities in the last year which really shows how important wellness programmes are to the team. Furthermore, 89% of Club Insure employees would recommend working here! There’s no better testament to the workplace culture than an engaged and positive team.
Our team’s day-to-day lives have been improved thanks to our wellbeing initiative though, with a 4% increase in mental wellbeing satisfaction, 9% increase in nutrition and activity levels and a 6% increase in sleep.
Improving our physical and mental wellbeing
The wellbeing report showed the team want to prioritise looking after their physical health (just 37% of employees are satisfied with their current activity levels, so we want to work with our team to improve this). There was a slight 1% decrease in the amount of active days our team experience, and a 12% increase in those sitting for seven or more hours.
We already organise weekly lunchtime walks and Pilates classes, but we take feedback on board and will be evaluating how we can further help our team in 2020.
