Club Insure set for roaring success as Churwell Lions sponsor

Club Insure are proud to announce their latest sponsorship deal in partnership with Churwell Lions under 8’s team.

Churwell Lions Football Club was founded in 1982 by Ex Leeds United, Greenock Morton & Cork Hibernians Professional footballer Walter (Sonny) Sweeney and has provided football for thousands of children in Leeds, including two Ex Leeds United captains Richard Naylor & Jonny Howson.

From two junior teams in 1982, Churwell Lions now boast 14 teams in total ranging from under 5’s to 16 year olds. Their club motto ‘friendship through football’, sums up their family values and commitment to child development through the sport.

Claim to fame: The late great darts commentator Sid Waddell, based his hit television programme ‘Jossy’s Giants’ on the Lions after taking his son, crime writer Dan Waddell, to play for them as a child. The team appeared in the very first episode.

Club Insure wish Churwell Lions the very best for the coming season (2015-16) and look forward to many wins!
